Famously asked questions Husky Park

Below you'll find answers to the questions we get asked the most about our services.

We don’t offer thermal clothing for our activities, please dress according to the weather.

From Rovaniemi city center, please take bus number 8 and it will take you directly to Santa Claus Village. We are in a walking distance from the bus stop.

Sure! We do offer rides with our summer carriage during summer and autumn, when the temperature is low enough.

Usually from early December to early April. Although first snow often falls in October, the permanent snow cover is usually in place by December, allowing winter activities to take place. By early April, the sun is already warm enough to begin softening and melting the snow.

In December we offer Jenga (500 m) and Tiny Quarter (2 km). We offer these safaris non-stop during our opening hours, so reservation isn’t necessary. You can also buy the tickets on the spot from our ticket sales when arriving to Husky Park.

We do offer longer (10 km) self-driven safaris in Kalliokumpu (about 20 minutes from Santa Claus Village). These activities can be found from: https://purelapland.fi/.

Husky Park is located in the Santa Claus Village, Arctic Circle, Rovaniemi.
Address: Joulumaantie 3, 96930 Arctic Circle.

We have plenty of more activities in Kalliokumpu. You can check them here: https://purelapland.fi/.

We have puppies about 2-3 times a year. Puppies usually stay inside their doghouse with their mom for the first 1,5 months, but whenever they are old enough, they are joining the Husky Hugging activity.

Reservation isn’t necessary. You can also buy the tickets on the spot from our ticket sales when arriving to Husky Park. In wintertime, when buying the tickets on the spot, Park Visit will be added to the price (10 €/adults, 5 €/children). For groups over 10 persons, we recommend making reservation in advance.

Under 4-year-olds are welcome to join the activities free of charge. Children must always be accompanied with an adult.

We don’t necessarily recommend our rides for pregnant guests. This is mainly on guests’ discretion and depends also on how far the pregnancy is.

We have had pregnant guests joining the safaris before, but it varies individually on how suitable the ride is for each guest. Park Visit & Husky Hugging is great for pregnant guests as well.

If you are able to sit on the sled comfortably, you are more than welcome to join the husky ride! Our guides are happy to help you from the wheelchair to the sled when needed.

Winter season is between 1.12.-30.4. and summer season is between 1.5.-30.11.

If you know that you will not make it in your scheduled reservation time, please inform us as early as possible. Without informing us, we will wait for you for 5 minutes and then give the slot for another customer.

If you need to cancel your reservation time, please let us know latest the day before your reservation time. This way we are able to give your booked timing for another guest and we will be able to proceed with any possible refunds. Please note, that we don’t give any refunds for cancellations that arrive after the reservation time.

The amount of daylight hours changes throughout the winter. Up until late December the days get shorter, and around Christmas time we have a few days when the sun doesn’t rise above the horizon at all. During this period, it is dark, however the snowy surroundings lighten up the atmosphere a lot by reflecting all the light that it can find. For the husky rides we have headlamps and if the sky is clear, the moon and the stars will lighten up the snowy surroundings. After Christmas the daylight hours start getting longer again.

During winter the temperature can go as low as -30 °C. Usually however, the temperature stays somewhere between -10 °C and -20 °C, depending on the month.

During summer the temperature can be the total opposite of winter, with the temperature rising up to +30 °C. Usually, the temperature stays somewhere between +15 °C and +25 °C.

We offer husky rides from autumn until the end of winter. During autumn, when the temperature is below +15 °C we offer short husky rides with our summer carriage. In November/December whenever we have enough snow, we start offering the husky rides with sleds instead.

Our Charter sleds take about 3-5 people, depending on the number of adults and children and how comfortably everyone fits in. Our smaller sleds take about 1-3 persons.

They sure are! The wellbeing of dogs is our number one priority. Siberian Huskies love running with all their heart. If you visit us, you can hear them excitingly howling as everyone of them want to be picked for the running team.

At Husky Park all our dogs are 100 % real Siberian Huskies. The Siberian Huskies are very active and energetic breed and they have always been working dogs, which make them the perfect breed for pulling the sleds, they absolutely love it! Since Siberian Huskies are an arctic breed, they have a double layered fur, which keeps them warm even during the roughest minus degrees. They really are born to pull sleds in the Arctic Circle.

Feel free to ask us anything, we are more than happy to help!
