Weather conditions
Can I join husky ride when there is no snow?

How many hours of daylight?
The amount of daylight hours changes throughout the winter. Up until late December the days get shorter, and around Christmas time we have a few days when the sun doesn’t rise above the horizon at all. During this period, it is dark, however the snowy surroundings lighten up the atmosphere a lot by reflecting all the light that it can find. For the husky rides we have headlamps and if the sky is clear, the moon and the stars will lighten up the snowy surroundings. After Christmas the daylight hours start getting longer again.
What the temperature is like in the winter?
During winter the temperature can go as low as -30 °C. Usually however, the temperature stays somewhere between -10 °C and -20 °C, depending on the month.
What the temperature is like in the summer?
During summer the temperature can be the total opposite of winter, with the temperature rising up to +30 °C. Usually, the temperature stays somewhere between +15 °C and +25 °C.

Activities
When safaris with the sled be done?
Usually from early December to early April. Although first snow often falls in October, the permanent snow cover is usually in place by December, allowing winter activities to take place. By early April, the sun is already warm enough to begin softening and melting the snow.
Where can we meet the puppies?
We have puppies about 2-3 times a year. Puppies usually stay inside their doghouse with their mom for the first 1,5 months. Once they are old enough, they join the adults, and you can meet them in the park area.
Are under 4-year olds welcome to join?
Under 4-year-olds are welcome to join the activities free of charge. Children must always be accompanied by an adult.
Can I join if I’m pregnant
We don’t necessarily recommend our rides for pregnant guests. This is mainly at guests’ discretion and depends also on how far the pregnancy is.
We have had pregnant guests joining the safaris before, but it varies individually on how suitable the ride is for each guest. Park Visit & Husky Meet & Greet is great for pregnant guests as well.
Can I join if I’m on wheelchair?
If you are able to sit on the sled comfortably, you are more than welcome to join the husky ride! Our guides are happy to help you from the wheelchair to the sled when needed.
Which husky rides do you offer in December?
In December, we offer the Jenga ride (500 m) and the Tiny Quarter ride (2 km). Tickets can be purchased on site at Husky Park upon arrival, or booked online in advance depending on availability. On-site tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis starting from our morning opening hours, so arriving early gives you the best chance to secure your tickets.
When is the snowy and snow-free season?
Our activities are divided into two seasons: the snowy season runs from 1.12 to 30.4, and the snow-free season from 1.6 to 30.11. Since the exact arrival of snow cannot be predicted, in some years we may switch to sleds earlier than 1.12 if conditions allow. We always move to sleds as soon as there is enough snow to do so safely. The activities are still organized according to the current program.
When are husky rides available?
We offer husky rides from autumn until the end of winter. During autumn, when the temperature is below +15 °C we offer short husky rides with our summer carriage. In November/December whenever we have enough snow, we start offering the husky rides with sleds instead.
How many people fit in same sled?
Our Charter sleds take about 3-5 people, depending on the number of adults and children and how comfortably everyone fits in. Our smaller sleds take about 1-3 persons.

Are the dogs well taken care of?
They sure are! The wellbeing of our dogs is always our top priority. Siberian Huskies truly love running, and we make sure they do it safely while staying healthy and motivated. When you visit us, you’ll hear them howling with excitement — each one eager to be chosen for the running team. Learn more about our dogs’ wellbeing and our dedication to responsible practices here.
Which huskies do you have?
At Husky Park, all our dogs are 100% pure Siberian Huskies. This breed is naturally active and energetic, and having always been working dogs, they are perfectly suited for pulling sleds — an activity they absolutely love! Being an Arctic breed, Siberian Huskies have a double-layered coat that keeps them warm even in the harshest sub-zero temperatures. They are truly born to pull sleds in the Arctic Circle.
